Tyler, the Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost! ALBUM REVIEW

"Call Me If You Get Lost" is the 7th studio album from American rapper, Tyler, the Creator

released on June 25, 2021, the follow up to the "Rusty" rapper's 2019 "Igor" Grammy winning rap album.

The album is hosted by Dj Drama and contains features from Pharell Williams, Lil Uzi Vert, NBA Youngboy, Brent Faiyaz, Fana Hues, Lil wayne, Ty Dolla $ign and more.

I love Tyler's experimental approach to this album, the versatility, the humility and the creativity, Dj Drama skits/vocals stringing throughout the album also gives the album a kind of hip hop mixtapes listening experience, people who listened to hip hop mixtapes in the 90s 00s can resonate with that mixtape scenario infused on the album.

"Call Me If You Get Lost" works very well as a body of work, very cohesive, no track feel out of place, everything blended well, basically, there isn't a bad track on this LP, some songs are stronger than others but all are worthy of a listen. There is soul, funk, hip hop, rnb, rap on this project, there's something for everyone, track like "Rise" ft Daisy World with an 80s vibes cater for hip soul, funky, new jack swing fans while you also have “Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance” featuring Brent Fayaiz & Fana Hues which reminds me of some cool 90s vibes from Tevin Campbell.

"Wusyaname" featuring NBA Youngboy & Ty Dolla $ign is one of my favourite jams on the album, the track is a sample of H-Town - 1994's smashing single "Back Seat (Wit No Sheet)"

This is a phenomenal project from Tyler, and I believe this album is on the same calibre as Tyler's Grammy winning "Igor" album but on a different level entirely, with a diverse range of rap, hip hop, rnb, funk and soul vibes which sound very fresh and atmospheric, probably one of my favourite hip hop albums this year.
