"Ready To Die" is the debut studio album from The Notorious B.I.G and still remains one of my favourite Hip Hop albums of all time, I was addicted to this album when it came out in the early 90s and it truly introduced me to Hip Hop music.

Biggie a.k.a Biggie Smalls, also known as The Notorious B.I.G, some also call him Big Poppa is regarded as one of the greatest MCs of our time.

"Ready To Die" was released under Bad Boy Records and Arista Records in September 1994, Bad Boy Records is owned by Sean Combs a.k.a Puffy, who later changed his name to P.Diddy and now we all call him Diddy.

"Ready To Die" gained massive commercial success worldwide, was certified gold within two months in the states and definitely set a new tone in the America's East Coast Hip Hop scene. There are lots of classics on this LP, which we still enjoy till today i.e. 26 years later, tunes such as "One More Chance", "Respect",  "Machine Gun Funk", "Big Poppa", "Warning" "Suicidal Thought", "Everyday Struggle" and "Who Shot Ya"  The evergreen "Juicy" is also on this  LP, very radio friendly track and also serves as a club banger if need be.

Biggie was widely respected for his ability to rhyme mystically and to flow on beats effortlessly.

Biggie's real name is Christopher Wallace and he was only 24 when he was shot dead on 9 March 1997 at Los Angeles.
