Jhené Aiko finally drops her debut mixtape " Sailing Soul(s) " on streaming platforms on March 12, 2021.
The poignant body of work was originally released back in March 2011 and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the mixtape which features amazing collaborations with the likes of Miguel, K.Roosevelt, HOPE and Dominik. The digital release of the mixtape is a celebration of the 10th year anniversary.
"Sailing Soul(s)" is a very timeless project, as in listening back to back to all the tracks on the mixtape, the vibes still sound so fresh and so relevant.
There are 4 bonus tracks on the streaming edition of the mixtape, which includes, "Living Room Flow", "Mirrors", "2 Seconds" and "Snapped".
The American R&B singer also released her third studio album "Chimbolo" about a year ago (March 2020) with guest appearances from Big Sean, H.E.R, Future, Miguel, Nas, John Legend, Ty Dolla $ign and more, in an impeccable project whereby the soulful singer demonstrated all her prowess with her elegant and soothing voice, the album earned Aiko, Grammy Awards nominations (2021) for "Album of the Year" and "Best Progressive R&B Album" and a top spot on the US Billboard charts for R&B Albums.
I feel that Aiko is a rare gem and as far as her music is concerned, she’s in a class of her own.
