Falana - Rising EP

Nigerian-Canadian songstress Falana - 'Rising" - Extended Play is one of my favourite projects right now, an eclectic mix of R&B, Pop, Neo-Soul, Afrobeats, Afropop and Dancehall. I must say Falana did an amazing job on this project, as this is the first time I'm listening to her music and I quite love it, my listening experience of the EP is quite fascinating. Falana is a very original and unique act with her own style/sound which is portrayed throughout this EP. My main highlight on the project is the last track ; a remake of Rose Royce 1977 's classic hit "Wishing On A Star", I am very impressed with what Falana did with this track, she made an already amazing track even more amazing, make it upbeat and groovy and basically be herself on this track, add her own flavour, tweak it around and not try to sound like Rose Royce but to ultimately sound like Falana and it works and it's absolutely pleasing to the ears. This is a very relaxed EP with cool and mellow vibes, thus uplifting and entertaining.
